TALES FROM THE WOODS THURSDAY CLUB
Our Thursday Club events are social outings held on a weekday (usually Thursday as the name implies, but where the situation demands,
on other days of the week)where you can meet up with fellow Woodies. It may be a visit to a museum or a stately home, a walk in the countryside
or a visit to an urban nature reserve, or a pub crawl. We may start off or end the day in a reasonably priced eating house.
NEXT EVENT:
THE THURSDAY CLUB REGENT'S CANAL WALK. Thursday 9th February
The walk will be from Kings Cross to Camden along the Regent's Park canal path.
We shall meet at KINGS CROSS MAIN LINE STATION, out side the main entrance, at 13.30 Hrs
The walk will definitely include The LONDON CANAL MUSEUM, New Wharf Road. Admission for Seniors is £3.
Depending on time and weather, it may be possible to visit the Nature Park, Camley Road, on route. Admission Free. What fun if it snows.
On our arrival at Camden, to refresh tired feet, there are, as you know, numerous pubs and reasonable priced eats to choice from.
As our arrival in Camden will be before the rush hour, it could be a possibility, for a long over due return, to the Blues Kitchen, for some Gumbo.
Anyway a referendum on what establishment we head for will be taken on the day.
SOME RECENT EVENTS:
Thursday 10th November: Fleet Street pub crawl.
This was a fun event. Four pubs and a curry house. Maybe we should do another one next year.
Thursday 8th December: Museum of Docklands visit. This was another interesting afternoon out. We met up with Terry Wayne and brother Cliff at the Wetherspoon's afterwoods.
